What are the teaching hours/schedule per week?
23-25 hours/week

 

What student age groups and proficiency levels will they be teaching?

High School students. They are all "beginning-level" students seeking to learn English.
 

What curriculum or materials will be provided?

Teachers will be provided the syllabus, as well as all teaching material (workbooks, evaluation tools, etc.).
 

Will they be teaching individually or in teams?

You will be teaching individually, within your own classroom. 
 

What is the length of the contract/commitment?

We have some teachers who sign up for a contract of only 2-3 weeks, we have others who are more long-term, like a month to a number of months for your term.

Is there paid prep time or professional development?

Yes, all teachers will go through an online Orientation, after their selection, with the Director of Teacher Development.
 

Is curriculum support for teachers offered?

Yes, curriculum support is provided by the Director of Teacher Development, a seasoned-US teacher of over 20 years, throughout the term of your contract.



Will there be any bonuses or stipends?
Yes, teachers with the highest evaluations will be eligible for a bonus at the end of the teacher's term.

Is the housing area safe and close to the school?
Absolutely. The accommodations are in one of the best neighborhoods in the beautiful city of Cartagena. Very close to businesses and tourist districts. 

Concerning meals, are dietary restrictions accommodated?
Yes, dietary restrictions are accommodated. The chef will have a meeting with all teachers/residents upon check-in to determine the meal menu.  There will be a form completed prior to arrival where teachers can specify any dietary restrictions.
