English Language Development Institute (ELDI)
Language opens pathways of communication.
Non-native English speakers can improve their English speaking, reading, listening, and writing skills through the English as a Second Language (ESL) program. Courses range from beginning to advanced levels and include writing instruction. We offer English instruction that prepares you for using English in an academic or professional context as well as the culture that is all around you.
What ELDI Does?
ELDI offers group and private classes with content tailored to the needs of your company. Ongoing engagement, challenging learning environments, simulation of real-life scenarios, and progress tracking are crucial elements of our training that significantly accelerate language learning.
ELDI classes are taught by instructors who care about their students' success and create a friendly and fun environment for learning. All ELDI instructors have master’s degrees in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) or a related field. The ELDI also creates diverse, dynamic short-term language and cultural programs and provides English language training for a variety of educational and professional fields.
Assisting and Assessing ELDI Learners by:
Read to Students Daily
Both hearing and seeing the written word on a daily basis will help students develop a better understanding of the English language. Choose texts that are diverse and represent multiple cultures, which will create opportunities for students to make connections to the text.
Choose Appropriate Material
Students who are learning English need access to vocabulary, so you should choose books that contain illustrations, action-based story plots, and predictable, repetitive phrases. It’s important to use material that is both interesting and level appropriate so students stay engaged without feeling overwhelmed.
Encourage and Support Comprehension
Reading slowly, reading the same story more than once, and using visuals to support story points are all ways to support comprehension. Comprehension should be tested on a regular basis to track progress as accurately as possible.
Promote Cooperative Learning
Guided collaboration among children enables ELDI students to assist and learn from one another. Literature circles are a great way to get students learning together by reading and discussing books in a group setting.
Corporate and Government ELDI Methods
Foreign-language ability can determine whether or not an employee can take on global assignments. Our customized ELDI Corporate and Government Foreign Language Development Programs are designed to meet the needs of busy professionals and help them acquire necessary language skills in a minimal amount of time.
ELDI offers foreign language training programs tailored to meet the needs of individuals being relocated abroad or for those who will be interacting with colleagues, clients, and partners in a foreign language on a regular basis.
